Description: The OpenXR standard is a royalty-free open standard that enables application developers to program to a single, common, high-performance API that supports a number of different AR and VR platforms. In this session we will explore the ongoing evolution of OpenXR and its critical role in unifying XR development across diverse hardware ecosystems.
Presenter will discuss recent updates to the OpenXR specification, highlighting the Working Group's systematic approach to incorporating vendor extensions into the core specification. He will examine how this process strengthens the standard while preserving the flexibility needed in a rapidly evolving industry. Attendees will gain insights into the technical enhancements that continue to improve platform interoperability, allowing developers to build once and deploy across multiple XR devices.
