Established in Nuremberg back in March 2003, the embedded world Conference is now going into its 23rd edition in 2025. The original concept of a unique combination of an exhibition for engineers and technical management on one hand and a world-leading conference at the intersection of applied research and industrial applications on the other hand has proven extremely successful. embedded world Exhibition & Conference is driven by technology as well as applications with a strong focus on system and cross domain aspects. And it is driven by the embedded community – and its annual meeting point.

OpenVX for Automotive: Accelerating Vision Processing Across Diverse Sensors

When: March 12th, 10:30 - 11:00am
Session: 6.2 - Embedded Vision
Description: Automotive systems rely on a variety of sensors—ultrasonic, radar, video, and lidar—to support critical functions such as driving assistance, parking, and driver monitoring. These diverse use cases require processing different types of image pipelines, from video streams optimized for computer vision to those suited for human vision or infrared data. OpenVX, an open and royalty-free standard, enables cross-platform acceleration, allowing developers to efficiently optimize performance across these complex sensor arrays without rewriting code for each processor. Raphael Cano, senior engineer, from Bosch will introduce OpenVX’s key features for handling automotive sensor data and present a real-world use case, showcasing how OpenVX enhances performance and portability in automotive applications while reducing memory footprint. Attendees will gain insights into how OpenVX simplifies the integration of multiple sensor types and improves overall system efficiency in automotive domains.
